What do we mean when we talk about anti-financial crime. What crimes should we be preventing? In this modulle we also introduce the core the legal architecture governing financial crime management in the UK.
DUE DILIGENCE PT 1
This module is key to understanding the due diligence requirements of a firm. We look at how you identify who your customer is and what due diligence is required for different customers. We consider higher risk customers and the impact on your procedures.
INTRODUCTION TO AML
Here we explore the money laundering crimes and in particular, crimes within the financial services sector and what guidance there is to help you combat it. What must you do if you are suspicious of money laundering occurring?
DUE DILIGENCE PT 2
In this module, we look at more complex aspects of due diligence including challenges around enhanced due diligence and complying with ongoing monitoring requirements. We also cover more complex customers scenarios and tackle the topic of checking the source of wealth.
TERRORIST FINANCING & SANCTIONS
Connected to money laundering are the topics of Terrorist Financing and Sanctions. In this module we explore how the topics differ and what practically firms can do to prevent themselves from playing a role in aiding terrorists to those on the sanctions lists.
We will explore the insider dealing and market abuse regimes, covering why the topic is taken so seriously by the FCA. We cover what core things firms are expected to do to prevent these offences from occurring,
INTRODUCTION TO ABC
Anti-Bribery & Corruption is another key financial crime topic. We look at the regime, where risks of bribery can lie and what you and your firm need to do to comply with bribery and corruption legislation in the UK.
Fraud is one of the crimes that the FCA requires firms to prevent against. We look at what kinds of fraud face regulated firms, including internal and external risks of fraud. We look at what red flags to look for in practice and what you should do when you spot them.
