FCA launches the RegData platform

Updated: May 22, 2021

The FCA announced in the summer that it was preparing to transition firms from the current regulatory reporting system Gabriel and the move is shortly to be underway. The first firms to be moved will have access to the platform from the weekend of 17 and 18 October.

Firms will be moved in tranches across to the FCA's new platform RegData. The order of those tranches will depend on any needs the FCA has identified and any previous expressions of interest made. Firms are likely to be called up and given a three-week window in which to make the transition.

The Principal User of Gabriel will be asked to ensure that all the data has correctly moved across, including the access provided for other users.

The regulatory returns you submit will retain the same format but the platform itself is intended to offer a more intuitive experience.

The FCA has produced a range of aids for firms moving onto the Reg Data platform which can be accessed here: https://www.fca.org.uk/firms/regdata/resources
